Sunday was a special day where I live because historical buildings that are privately owned were all open to the public and some buildings that are generally open had special tours, etc., for this one day of the year. So Julia and I decided to make a tour. The highlights included a tour of a two thousand year old castle/fort (when Julia first told me it was two thousand years old I thought I heard wrong. Two thousand years old! That's insane.) and a private tour of a family's 15th century fachwerkhaus. The couple was so nice to share their home with us, and their house was absolutely gorgeous but I only took pictures of the cellar so the rest of the house you'll just have to leave to your imagination. Here's pictures of everything else though!
This was the first place we went to, and it was beautiful but I cant really tell you much about it, we just took pictures and that was about it.
Fort/castle as it looked, uhm, a long time ago.
This guy was carving weopans and utensils out of wood and bone using medieval tools
